Prayer for Light and Courage
send Your Holy Spirit into my heart. Point out my sins. Supply the courage I need to confess them honestly. Help me to believe You are are always willing to forgive. Remove my sin and guilt, fill me with peace, then send me away strong, free, and determined I will be better in the days ahead. You have power over all things great and small! I ask for these things though Jesus, Your Son, who is my Lord and Savior. Amen |

Know, Love, and Serve
The goal of Catholic Catechism is to obtain for each of us everlasting happiness
in heaven. The Bible instructs us how to achieve this. We must know,
love, and serve God in this world. Everything the Bible teaches revolves
around these predicates. Each action leads to the next. And yet they are
intertwined too. It is a perfect trinity just as the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit are.
We get to know God through scripture and prayer.
To know God we must study about Him, live with Him. We read scripture both
at church and at home to witness God's power, love, forgiveness, and
understanding. As one gets to know God, you love Him. You realize
how truly wonderful He is for all that He created, for His true perfection, for
all that is offered to us. Knowledge of God leads to love of God.
All people should strive to follow the unflawed
example of Christ and His sacrifices for us. The effort to attend Mass,
partake in the Sacraments, learn about others who followed Christ before us, and
teach others about the Catholic religion is part of this quest for heaven.
Christ's ability to forgive even as he hung bloody, beaten, and naked on the
cross is an incredible example. Gospels share much about Jesus' time on
earth including: His shun of Satan and his evil temptations, His dedication to
prayer and fasting, and general compassion to those close to Him as well as
strangers.

Like in any loving relationship, love
embraces service. When in love, we wish to be pleasing to that person we
cherish, respect, and/or admire. Our love of God should expand to include
a "want" to serve others. There are countless things we can do. We
can help indirectly by financially supporting local Catholic education through
scholarship programs and donations. We can help directly by praying,
helping in drives/collections for the poor, volunteering in P.S.R. programs or
at a neighborhood Catholic school. We can go to church fund raisers and
festivals. We can make sacrifices through tithing, fasting, and always
being ready to help another who needs it. All of this and more, in giving
glory to God who has blessed us. If you haven't already, set your goal
toward heaven and follow the path to know, love, and serve God.

The Catholic Business Connection
Doing What We Are Called To Do
The Catholic Business
Connection is a multifaceted program with a goal of strengthening the local
Catholic community. We are like a
Catholic business association. We have an affordable
way for Catholic business owners and salespeople to advertise while doing
great things in the greater Cleveland area.
All of our business
directory listings are salespeople or businesses owned or operated by local
Catholic men and women.
It's historically and regionally proven, when parishioners are
economically sound, the church, schools, and charities
do
well.
We can strengthen our local diocese by
encouraging Catholics to do business with each other.
We actively promote our program, directory, and
humanitarian projects through a diverse marketing system and average thousands of local
hits every week because of it.
We proudly promote and support Catholic education
(see scholarship program), local Catholic events, and most off all encourage a positive Catholic way of life to bring more people to Christ.
BALTIMORE CATECHISM REVIEW
Catechism was designed to help people know the faith and grow closer to God. These questions were developed at a time when many people could not read or write, or didn't own a Bible. Every question and answer is found in scripture. It's good way to know and understand the Catholic faith.
84. Besides believing what God has revealed, what else must we do to be saved?
Besides believing what God has revealed, we must keep His law.
85. Which are the two great commandments that contained the whole law of God?
The two great commandments that contain the whole law of God are:
First, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind, and with thy whole strength:
Second, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
86. What must we do to love God, our neighbor, and ourselves?
To love God, our neighbor, and ourselves we must keep the commandments of God and of the Church.
