About the Catholic Business Connection

The goal of the Catholic Business Connection is to bring more people to Christ through the Catholic church.  It's multifaceted program is designed to build a stronger diocese so the Church may do the things it is called to do.  It was born out of the Holy Spirit.  We are thankful for direction.

I noticed how comfortable I felt when I used a repair service or purchased something from a member of my own parish; someone I saw at church every week, knowing they were striving to be a good Catholic Christian, just like myself and my family.  I thought about how the greater Cleveland area is filled with Catholic churches with dedicated parishioners who are in various businesses, both retail and service.  Many of them are trying to provide a decent life for their families.  They are the ones whoBusiness make it possible for the Catholic church and it's schools to do the things we are called to do.  But advertising is expensive.  I was inspired to create a program based around a website that makes it very affordable for Catholics to market their talents, goods, and services to fellow Catholics.

By raising the economic base of the parishioners, the Church will be more economically sound.  When money is tight, people have to restrict what they can give.  When people are doing well, they give more to church.  Practicing Catholics are generous.  When you raise the economic level of the parishioners, you raise the economic level of the church.  When the church has generous gifts coming in, it can educate the young, take care of the poor and disabled, and evangelize!  The Catholic Business Connection is based in this simplicity.

Years ago, one could look around at church and know everyone and what they did for a livingPeople.  Parishioners bought their cars from the car salesperson, their meat from the butcher in the church and their appliances at the store that was owned by a parishioner.  Those business people could in turn afford to support their church, the parish school, and the local Catholic charities.  But today people don’t know each other that well, for many reasons.   So instead of buying from someone they recognize, someone who’ll stand behind their service or product, someone they can trust; they buy from box stores or strangers with little or no connection.  And because of this, fellow parishioners find it harder to support the church, its parish school, and its charities.  We’re here to change all that and bring back the connection that has slowly deteriorated over the years.  We want to make the parish, the cluster, the diocese a connected family.

Many Catholics can not afford to send their children to a Catholic school as evidenced by the manyMother & Son parish schools closing in this area.  This site not only helps connect Catholics with Catholics in various childbusinesses, it also awards a yearly scholarship give-away (Scholarship Program.)  We are working with business owners to convey cost cutting measures to the schools.  We’re also researching Catholic and other private schools around the country who have been able to lower tuition so we may help Catholic schools in our area.  We want our Catholic schools filled!  The Catholic school is the best way to teach large numbers of people about the Church, how to be an active Catholic and how to share in the promise of everlasting life.

The Catholic Business Connection is not affiliated with the Cleveland Diocese.  The Diocese of Cleveland is fully aware of our program and has no objections to it.  We are parishioners helping local Catholics with inexpensive advertising and providing scholarship aid for Catholic education, proudly promoting local Catholic events, and encouraging a positive Catholic way of life.
