Can’t go to the beach? Can’t go the water park? Want
to make something fun?

This silly octopus is enjoyable for kids of all ages.
Supplies:
Yarn any color, but you’ll need about a half of a roll/package
White plastic bottle a large vitamin bottle works great
Permanent marker
“shaky” eyes
Large magazine or strip of heavy cardboard
Scissors
Tacky glue
1. Wrap yarn snug, but not tight around the large
magazine or cardboard. The length of the legs is determined
on how long your wrapping are. The wrap will be divided in to eight parts
for the legs, so don’t skimp.
2. Tie a piece of yarn around the yarn wrapping at one
end.

3. Cut the other end. Holding the tied end, wrap
another piece of yarn around the hanging yarn strands to form a
head several inches down from the tied end.
4. Divide the hanging strands into eight equal parts.
Braid each “leg” and tie each end with yarn.

5. Decorate the white plastic bottle with a face. We
drilled a hole at the top for hair.
You can add fake fur, foamie shapes, or whatever you want. If you don’t have a white bottle, wrap a colored bottle with paper or masking tape so you can add the face.
6. Push yarn “head” into the bottle and apply a bead of glue to attach. Kids love to select their color yarn from the store. The creativity definitely gets going with the faces.
We hope you have fun with this one.
