April 17th             St. Michael School Fashion Show Benefit

Spotlights 70 Years of the Little Black Dress

Doubletree Hotel Cleveland South,

6200 Quarry Lane,

Independence, Ohio.

10:00 am

Since its introduction in 1926, the Little Black Dress has become the epitome of timeless fashion and St. Michael School, partnering with Ursuline College, is pleased to host a fashion show and luncheon benefit to showcase “70 Years of the Little Black Dress”

Constance Korosec, PhD, chair of Ursuline’s fashion design and merchandising department, will emcee the highly anticipated fashion show featuring more than 30 dresses taken from Ursuline’s historic Costume Study Collection with pieces from a variety of legendary designers including, Pauline Trigere, Oscar de la Renta, Mollie Parnis, Bill Blass, Vera Wang and more.   Transcending the world of fashion, Korosec said, “Today, it is considered essential to a complete wardrobe by many women and fashion observers, who believe it a ‘Rule of Fashion’ that every woman should own a simple, elegant black dress that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.”   Guests are invited to wear their Little Black Dress (LBD) and will enjoy complimentary mimosas while they browse an exhibit of LBDs that will display some of the answers to the question “What should I wear to…” from society galas to class reunions. They also will be treated to view some of the finest accessories of their day – from signature pearls to feathered hats to shimmering handbags -- all helping to make their LBD owners stunning fashion statements of their time.   More than 15 Fine Artists will be present for guests to peruse and enjoy along with raffles and silent auctions.

Proceeds from the Fashion Show will benefit the St. Michael School PTU. For more information, contact Ms. Carol Pannent, fashion show chair, at 440-526-0154.  St. Michael School 6906 Chestnut Road - Independence, OH  44131 - 216/524-6405 www.stmichaelschoolinfo.org   ***
