Q.
Is the Catholic Business Connection affiliated in any way with the
Catholic Church or Cleveland Diocese?
A. No,
the Catholic Business Connection is an independent company and was created
by a Catholic parishioner to strengthen the church from within.
The Cleveland Diocese is aware of the program and has no objections
to it.
Q.
Is the Catholic Business Connection trying to affect or compete with church
bulletin advertising?
A. No.
It is not our intention to alter or affect bulletin advertising.
The bulletin advertising is very important for the churches that use
publishing companies to produce their weekly bulletin.
Our program differs greatly from the bulletin concept.
Although we have advertising, that’s only part of what we are about.
Our concept focuses on the individual parishioner first.
By lifting the parishioner economically, they have more to give to
their parish. A strong parish
then can afford to school it’s youth and the youth of the area, thus
bringing people to Christ and the Catholic religion.
This increases the probability of more religious vocations.
More priests and nuns lead to a larger foundation and pool of
Catholic educators to spread the Word of God both here and throughout the
world. The United States has
the most financial opportunities and resources so it’s only natural the
process begins here. So
you can see our vision is not to make money on advertising (reflected by our
inexpensive price), our mission is to create a strong, active, financially
sound Catholic Church which can bring more people to Christ and everlasting
life!
In order to have a “domino effect” you have to have someone set up the
dominoes. That’s us.
Q.
Do you ever turn away some who wants to advertise on your website?
A. Yes,
we have turned away many who want to advertise with us. They are attracted
to our progam because its of the low cost and high volume of traffic.
But
all
of our advertisers must be registered members of a Catholic parish.
Proof is required and occasionally we follow-up with a parish office
to confirm the information. The
“church” is the congregation led by the tenants and leaders of the Catholic
religion. Our program
ultimately is designed to strengthen the church and bring more people to
Christ through the Catholic faith.
We
do
use the opportunity of inquiries to bring others to the Catholic faith and
bring people
back
to the Catholic religion and attending Mass.
Q.
What’s your hidden agenda?
A. We
are completely transparent. We
have no hidden agendas. We love
the Catholic faith/religion and want others to live and love in the Catholic
community. Following laws of
God and those of the church lead to comfort and happiness.
Unfortunately society has broken apart the organization of church by
having people question the value of going to Mass on Sunday (or Saturday
night) and holy days. The
secular society has lured people away from church with shopping, sporting
events, a fast paced life-style, and even greed and envy.
These are difficult temptations.
All the more reason Catholic schools are important for teaching the
young how to deal with the temptations of the world and create habits of
attending church. We’re not
trying to change the Catholic Church; we’re trying to sustain, promote, and
bring people to it.
Q.
What makes you qualified for speaking on behalf of the Catholic church?
A. We’re
not! It is not our intention to
speak for the church. We’re not
theologians or church leadership.
We are parishioners trying to do good things for the Catholic church
because we want to preserve it.
We can’t, nor will we speak for the Catholic church, it’s not our position.
Q.
Why are you not covering the entire Diocese of Cleveland with your program?
A. We
will eventually, but we started with the area closest to us geographically
and we will extend this program to all of the diocese.
This entire area has an economic challenge and we know all the
parishes in the diocese need the benefits of economically strong
parishioners. But we also will
need representatives in these other areas to call on parishioners in
business and sales. You can
contact us at the address/email/phone numbers above if you are interested.
Q.
As an advertiser, do I have to be in three directories?
A. No.
When you purchase an ad, we give you the option of adding two more
directories. This is helpful
for those businesses near a county border who are willing to service into
that area. Some advertisers
place their ad in one or two regional directories.
Q.
I want my ad to be in all the directories, can I be in more than three?
A. Yes.
You get three for the price of one.
If you wish to be in fourth, it would be an additional $205.00
But even so, our advertising is one of the least expensive.
