Our Solutions
As defined by the Cleveland Diocese, we have a three part problem: financial concerns, lack of personnel (religious men and women in vocations), changing demographics. We believe we have the solution to these problems. There is no overnight fix to these problems, but make no mistake, these are our problems and it’s time we, the parishioners, do something about it. The Catholic Business Connection is opening the lines of communication: between fellow parishioners, and schools and churches in our diocese.
Here’s how:
1. Catholics,
do business with fellow Catholics,
not just people who call themselves Catholic, but those who really practice
their faith.
Regular practicing
Catholics support their parishes. So each of us can make a difference.
Go to Catholic owned restaurants, find a Catholic car salesperson,
use Catholic contractors, etc… We want churches to consider Catholics when
work or services need to be done or when products need to be purchased.
Financially strong parishioners means a financially strong church.
Our website directory is the place to find fellow Catholics; you can even
see what parish to which they belong.
Be proud to
be Catholic and utilize others who are too.
2. Lower
tuition at Catholic schools.
This is not easy, but the first step is to help out with tuition.
Our scholarship program will grow over the next few years helping
families with thousands of dollars towards Catholic education K-12.
Money saving ideas should be brought forth by the community, and
considered by the schools.
The
Catholic Business Connection has many ideas to help with the cost of private
Catholic education.
In addition
we will be hosting a series of meetings with local businesses to bring forth
solutions and cost cutting ideas.
We will post more information on our site in the future.
Our immediate goal is to find ways to lower tuition by $500.00 per
student within two years.
3. Apply
the first two ideas and the demographics
will
improve.
There’s no reason to leave an area if you can support a family and are part
of a vibrant, dedicated church.
The demographics of people moving and a “growing poor” and "working poor" affects parish and
school income.
Lift the population economically and we lift the church.
4. Pray!
The church has seen harder times in the past.
We can survive this.
It’s up to us to be faithful, thankful, obedient people who are willing to
reject the temptation of the secular world and be willing to do what is
necessary and possible for the future of our church with the grace and help
of God.
